Kathi from Out on a Whim
I am an altered artist, primitive crafter, junker, scrapbooker, wife and mother, not necessarily in that order! I have been married to Darin for 22 years, we have 4 sons, Jason 20, Jordy 17, Brody 15 and Trace 8. Darin owns a private ambulance service and I work there part-time as finance manager. We live in West Liberty, Ohio, the small town where I grew up.
I have been "making things" since childhood, and began to sell my work in 1991. I have done everything from painting ceramics and wood, to sewing and stitching, and now am all about altered art! I have sold my work in shop, done some wholesale, and designed for the gift industry. I am now focusing on selling online, on etsy and ebay, and am thrilled to be invited to join Lazy Day Creations Design Team. I have done projects for Country Marketplace and Merchantile Gatherings magazines, and my work has appeared on the cover of the Ohio Country Register.
I love anything old or retro looking, everything from a shabby "pink" palette, primitive browns and black, to happy aquas and reds! I enjoy taking old things and giving them a new life and purpose, or just taking a stack of papers and trims, and turning them into something unique!

Connie Hippen from Altered Route
There has never been a lack of crafting in my life and it would be easier to list what I haven't tried.
I was exposed to sewing and dress making by my Granny when I was 8. She also took me garage sailing, to swap meets and fleamarkets and it didn't take long to get into my blood.
I made custom bikinis for a surf shop back in the early day and later owned a fabric/craft/gift shop where I taught classes on just about every subject and technique of the time. I have done the Art Festival/Craft Show thing for many years where our theme was re-purposed barnwood and rustic Primitive...a style that will always be behind whatever I do.
I now live on a ranch in Wyoming and my only access to outside influence, trends and inspiration comes from surfing the web...I guess I have come full circle on the surfing thing. I enjoy a handful of great online groups that share and swap, but most of all, challenge me to try new things.
Altered art sounded alot like what I was already doing, but I had no idea about all the cool papers, mediums and other supplies that were available. My first attempt was brown paper bag album and boy was I hooked! I puchased about a dozen back issues of Somerset and from that day on, I have had such a wonderful time learning and creating. I sell on eBay and Etsy and I was so pleased when Melissa asked me to join her design team here at Lazy Day Creations. I hope you find my style enjoyable and that you keep your eye on me as I go down my Altered Route!

Helena from Snow Pond Primitives
My name is Helena Chutjian and I am very excited to be part of the design team at this wonderful site.
I am a WAHM of 3 wonderful "kids" ages 23,19 and 8. Our oldest son Matthew just returned from Iraq and we are extra thankful this year.
Like most I have been creating since I was a little girl, and am always trying something new.
I am a wood carver and painter most of the time but have now fallen in love with the world of altered art.
We recently moved to the historic coastal town of Beaufort, SC after dreaming of living here for 10 years. The beauty here is my daily inspiration.

Jacie from OK
Hello! I’m Jacie. I currently reside in Oklahoma, but I am a Kansas gal at heart! I am married to a career Air Force man…I am so proud and blessed to be his wife! We have 3 awesome children- 2 daughters and 1 son, 1 son-in-law and 1 grandson who brings me so much joy!
I have been a primitive crafter since the 90’s and have done a variety of primitive crafts such as painting, stitching, quilting, basket weaving, rug hooking and punch needle, with painting being my main craft medium. I just recently caught the scrap booking and altered art bug and I am now hooked!
I have a booth at an antique mall and I love to go junking at auctions, flea markets, tag sales and just about anywhere I can think of to look for new treasures! I like to repurpose the things I find or just imagine the history behind something I find! I love primitives, but also have a weakness for most anything vintage!
I look forward to this new adventure in being part of the Design Team!

I love primitive, vintage, and altered creations and dabble in all kinds of artistic areas! I have loved to create ever since I was knee-high to a grasshopper!
I enjoy going to auctions, antique shoppes, flea markets and yard sales! I am such a hoarder! I hate to throw anything away! I truly love taking a piece of junk and turning into a treasure! I hate mass-producing and love to create one-of-a-kind creations!

Judy from Precious Past-Times
Hi! My name is Judy, and I go as Jude on most all of my computer communications. I have been crafting for as long as I can remember... from the time I was a little tyke in Brownies (arts and crafts time was my favorite) and I went though the whole gamut of crafts as the years went by, crocheting, macrame, painting wood cutouts, then into primitives (which I still do), but I recently found digital scrapbooking, and altered art, including collages, etc. and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. I have an Etsy shop which is www.preciouspasttimes.etsy.com. and my ebay name is Primpast-times.
I'm so proud to be part of Melissa's group. It's going to be so much fun!! I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!!

Lizbeth from Persimmon Possum
A lifetime of junk-tiquing, a degree in biology & 25 years as a librarian are the wide-ranging interests that brought Lizbeth King to the world of Altered Art. A Southern artist and writer who is always looking for new outlets for her creativity, she says this is the logical next step for her expressions. Employing everything from digital media to paper, canvas and paint in her art and graphics, she is truly a "mixed-media artist"!
A published poet and children's writer, who enjoys expressing herself in word as well as image, Lizbeth recently retired from her work in the public library. She, her husband and college-age son run an antique and home furnishing store part time where she is able to turn her artistic eye to displays and graphic designs for ads.
She is anxious to turn all these interests to the world of Altered Art and see where the journey leads.

Jan from Polka Dot Barn
Hi! I’m a child of God, a wife, a mother, and a self-taught artist.I’m many more things actually, but these above really reflect what centers me.
My drugs of choice are anything rusty, vintage, old, torn, trash, cheap, free, odd, interesting, or ready for the dumpster……………I’m a junkie.
I’m a junkie and I take my drugs and with the help of God, turn them into priceless pieces of art! LOL Oh, how I love what I do! A day spent in my studio is such a blessing to me!
I love soldering, making jewelry, paper collage art, mixed media art, painting, I love GLITTER!, and I love spending hours in junk stores, flea markets, antique shops and if possible, people’s sheds, barns, and sometimes a dumpster or two. It’s in these places that I find the best stuff to incorporate into my art.
I am so excited to be a part of Mel’s design team - I know I’ll learn a lot and that she’ll stretch me as an artist as she throws materials at me and says, “Create!!!”
I look forward to growing as an artist through this experience!
